Associate Director of Learning & Development and Communications

Sandy has served her community in the Social Service field for over 25 years in both Arizona and Washington State.  Sandy began her career in Social Services working for a private agency in Arizona where she recruited, trained, and certified adoptive applicants while also providing trainings and supports to families in the community.  Sandy then joined Child Protective Services (CPS) as a Lead Investigator carrying high profile investigations and dependency cases for over seven years before moving to Washington State and transitioning into a Child Family and Welfare Services (CFWS) caseload helping children reunify with birth families or find permanency with relatives or other caring families.

For four years Sandy served as a Staff Development and Training Program Manager before stepping into roles as a unit Supervisor, Area Administrator and eventually a Deputy Regional Administrator in Western Washington.  Sandy began working at the Alliance for Child Welfare Excellence in July 2014 as the Associate Director of Learning and Development. 

 

Outside of work, Sandy has supported her community by participating on numerous advisory boards and community partnerships including previously serving on Dawson Place Child Advocacy Center, Evan B. Donaldson Adoption Institute, and the Children’s Justice Task Force. Currently she is a board member of the Citrine Women’s Wellness Organization of Snohomish County and a Host Parent for students living in Seattle from abroad.
