Amanda Meyer began her career in social services in 1993 with the Health Department and later at Planned Parenthood, where she provided intervention education and support for youth. She went on to work in prevention and advancement support services at both the county and state levels before joining the Department of Children, Youth, and Families (DCYF) in 2002.
At DCYF, Amanda gained extensive practice experience in child welfare through direct case management in CPS, FVS, and CFWS, as well as program and contract management, training, and practice model implementation. In 2009, she became a statewide Coach, partnering with social workers, supervisors, and leadership to strengthen practice across Washington State.
When the Alliance was formed in 2012, Amanda joined as a Coach, serving multiple regions before transitioning to her current role in curriculum design and course facilitation. Beyond her work at the Alliance, Amanda has been an active member of the West Coast Child Welfare Trainers Conference planning committee since 2012 and has served as their Chair since 2021.
Throughout her career, Amanda has been dedicated to advancing professional development for child welfare staff, with the goal of improving outcomes for children, youth, and families.
